In the same way that having a data protection solution will not ensure your data is easily recoverable, having a high availability solution doesn’t necessarily mean that your business is fully protected from data loss.
Consider what could happen if the site that stores your high availability system is destroyed. Where’s your data backup now? You can and should have two data backup systems in two physically separate locations to ensure your future business continuity. Then, should there be a catastrophic event that impacts your data center or high availability system, your secondary backup will be available to fully recover your business critical data and you can go on with your business.
Don’t take the risk by making this mistake.
