In his “IT After The Recession” article that ran June 8 on Forbes.com, Ed Sperling, stated that “the recession appears to have bottomed out, and IT budgets have stabilized. But as we emerge from one of the steepest declines in decades, the fundamental model for IT will have changed significantly.”
Some may agree, while others may disagree with Sperling about whether the recession has hit rock bottom yet, but no one will argue with the fact that the IT arena has certainly changed.
In this interview, McDonald discusses a new survey of CIOs conducted by Gartner and its unexpected findings and answers many of Sperling’s questions about the near future of the IT market.
